What does it mean to believe in the name of Jesus?

“And in His name the Gentiles will hope” (Matthew 12:21).

“She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus [Yeshua], for He will save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).

Lately, I’ve been meditating on this verse in Matthew and on the beauty, power, and significance of the name of Jesus. In Hebrew culture, a person’s name was their identity and destiny.

Jesus’ name in Hebrew is “Yeshua,” which means “salvation.”
